I bought my Onkyo in Oct 2009 and was quite happy with it (although I find my previous Pure DMX50 more user friendly, but unfortunately Pure do not produce further models like it) until about 7 months after that the transformer in the unit started to produce an audible buzz and got pretty warm even on standby. The unit was still working normally, but at the end I decided to contact Onkyo before it became unusable. Onkyo redirected me to a UK service centre. The guys over there were very helpful and prompt in arranging CityLink to collect the unit and I got it delivered and fixed within 10 days. This onkyo hifi unit is the best sounding all in one unit on the market in my opinion,i have a set of tannoy speakers and the sound is fantastic. This combination of onkyo unit and tannoy speakers gives systems three times the price a real challenge.

At 69 I didn't think I would buy another hi fi, but this one was value for money, it plays my classical cds and dabs all rock radio with clarity and good bass, easy to install and good sound---superb, very pleased, coupled to my KEF speakers, it's as good as my previous technics seperates.

I had a Yamaha CD DAB receiver in the kitchen and wanted something similar for the bedroom. I always hated the Yamaha handset and the way it dealt with presets. The Onkyo is much better than the Yamaha. The handset is much easier to use. The radio presets are easy to set up and, more importantly, simple to recall using the handset. The sound is great - and also better than the Yamaha. I am very happy with the set and would recommend it. If you are not bothered by black vs silver, the silver is a few pounds cheaper
