We bought this radio as a gift for a family member for Christmas, 2006. The quality is good and it would be great for a portable radio except that the batteries run down quite fast, and as they're C batteries, this becomes very expensive. Supposedly, there is a rechargeable 'chargepak' which charges up when you plug the radio into the mains. We've been trying to get hold of one of these since well before Christmas (when we bought the radio) but it seems to be impossible to get hold of them - they are constantly 'out of stock' on pure's own website.

Good quality entry level DAB with more than enough functions to do the job. Excellent clarity of music and voice and can now get many more channels than before. Backlight excellent for use in the bedroom as on timer gives you time to see what time and then goes off when timer facility turned on. Click and turn knob sometimes means you keep adjusting the volume but easily sorted out. Thinking of getting one for the kitchen.
