Being a news addict I needed a DAB radio in my bathroom. The Pure Oasis is a perfect sturdy radio with great reception (my last radio always had problems with the reception in my bathroom). Sound quality is perfect, Would have been five stars if there would have been a possibility to adjust tone (bass and treble cannot be adjusted, that's the only thing lacking on this great machine).
I am a Pure fan, I already own a Pure Sonos II clockradio, which is probably the best radio around. Both products, the Sonos and the Oasis are great value for money.

I think this is a SUPER Product!
I really needed a new Radio for our Bathroom. I cannot have a bath in silence - and as I usually spend at least an hour or more in the bath, I really needed a good Radio.
Although over the years I have purchased quite a few ordinary battery Shower Radios; none have ever been 'DAB' (and this appears to be the only one I could find suitable for a Bathroom) and though they all sounded good (when they picked up Stations that is) and were pretty well made, 'small-ish' and looked good, having moved to a new address, they would pick up anything but Classic FM which is the only single Station I ever listen to... So; when I saw this, it looked huge and was a lot more expensive than what I was used to paying, but then I must have spent as much on all the others put together which have never truly satisfied me, and finding only the one Model - didn't really have any choice anyway...
On receipt of this, I was truly delighted with it upon opening the box! It's much bigger than I'd expected - particularly for a Bathroom, but it still fits (just about) on the far corner of the bath next to the wall, and because it's SO heavy, it won't topple over into the water!
This is SO robustly made! (unbelievable for today's standards - everything being so cheaply constructed and lightweight - whatever price you pay) Also; because of this, the result is you get a REALLY nice deep and lovely resonance from the one Speaker with plenty of bass which I love!
This is EXTREMELY easy to set up and to operate! (hardly needs any Instructions at all!)
My only reservation was the result of reading one or two other Reviews on Amazon where it has been pointed out the problem of when the battery should 'die' and that the ordinary User is not able to access it... I must admit; I had not thought of this, (it's a wonder though, as I have never ever liked 'rechargeable' appliances of any kind for that reason) and so I am 'cautious'. However; it says you get about fifteen or so hours from a full 'charge' (should do me about 15 or so baths) and because I won't be using it at any other time, it should really give it a chance to rest in-between during the day. If it 'dies' after a couple of years, then I won't be complaining. After all; we do live in a 'throw away' society; there'll probably be something 'new' out there by then - and perhaps even more choice. Electrical goods have long since stopped being built to last a lifetime, and so I've long since stopped expecting things to last for more than a couple of years anyway...
Great product; looks good - feels good, and certainly sounds good! No stone rattling around in a tin can like almost every other sound appliance you purchase these days with this one!

I bought this radio as a surprise present for my husband. He was delighted with it and takes it all over the house and garden. I bought it specifically for use in the bathroom and garage. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great radio for bathroom & outdoors & can plug in ipod also. The downside to the radio is the temperature restrictions for battery charging Pure have set a nonsensical, rediculously high temperature of 18C before it charges when the battery technology(li-ion) can charge at >0C. I have to put mine on a radiator for 15mins before it starts to charge. The battery life claims are also rediculous...i.e. you'll get 15 hours if you turn the volume down. I get nowhere near this. I think the charging >18C is actually a design fault that Pure will not admit & will not address except to discontinue the product. I still like the radio but I can see myself opening it up to make modification to battery NTC thermistor. A niggle also is that there is no clock which would be a value add feature all for a bit of software that already exists in their other radios.
