This lens goes real good with my Sony Alpha 230L and the automatic focus works great. The only negative thing about it is that the manual focus is kind of stiff, it should be smoother. Maybe the usage will make it easier to use overtime. So far a great buy for a budget lens.

I am a disabled photographer, therefore I have to watch the cost of whatever I buy when it comes to equipment. Certainly I had envious eyes on the Nikkon lens but trimming my sails to meet the wind I decided that it was worth giving the Sigma a try. I am glad I did. Some reviewers have stated that this lens is noisy but I have not found it so bad that it scares off the wildlife or breaks my concentration. As for the images. They are almost as good to those I take with my smaller Nikkon lenses, perhaps losing a little definition, but, if you are simply taking for your own enjoyment or for the family, this is being a little picky. Overall I am very glad that I chose this product. It is substantial enough to take the clumsy handling of somebody on a steep learning curve but delivers high quality images when I get it right. One day I will find the bunce for the real thing, in the meantime this is more than adequate.

As a professional photographer I was very nervous about buying this lens, however I was in desperate need of a last minute emergancy lens for very little cash until I could get a new Nikon model! This lens is a brilliant buy! I researched it through various sources for days before buying it and in the end I decided to just buy it and pray! I am so glad I did!
It is well built and very strong and the auto focus is well above parr - better infact than on some Nikon lenses I have used! And as an added bonus it comes with a lens hood. As this is not a VR lens, I would recommend the use of a tripod for non-professional photographers and as you may find it heavy and experience "camera shake" but that is to be expected of a lens this size!
I am unable to fault this lens at all, it is a brilliant buy!

I ordered this lens only 3 days ago and it arrived this morning using the free delivery option - WOW!
Any way I have used the lens and for the price of just under £120 I certainly cant complain. The motor is a little on the noisy side but other than that its a super buy! Because of the focal length and if using it handheld you will find that the lens will tend to search a bit but thats to be expected. If using the lens on macro setting u will definatly need a tripod.
I could harp on like some people do and talk about the technical side of the lens but all you need to know is that its a really good buy and this is the cheapest I have seen it for ANYWHERE!! If on a budget get this if not then why you reading this?
Happy purchasing!!!
NB. I will put some images on as soon as I get round to it!! ;-)
