All considered, this unit is great value for money although not the last word in hifi - maybe an extra fiver could have gone towards beefing up the speakers. No real criticisms overall - does what it says on the tin.
Can't really fault the FM and DAB tuners, they are both sensitive enough for our area and better than most other receivers we have. The sound levels between the two are well matched, unlike other systems I have owned or come across.
Like many cheaper non-car hifi systems, the CD player doesn't seem to remember where it left off last time you used it. This is most annoying when you have loaded a MP3 disk with hundreds of tracks, and you have to go through the albums / tracks to find your place (if you can remember!)
Another quirk is on the USB. To make sure it will work it seems you have to insert your memory stick AFTER the unit is switched on, but BEFORE you select USB. If you don't follow this sequence the system says it is reading the stick for ever. Don't know why they've done this, presumably a software bug.

This system is strong for the money, and provides good sound, particularly from DAB. I live in London where the DAB signal is clear: the set-up was seamless and out-of-the-box.
The speaker cable was not long enough, but this is a standard failing of this kind of system.
Also the DAB title, viewed on the system box in good sized letters, is not long enough to include the channel number for BBC radio stations - they are all just "BBC RADIO" with the number hidden on the right.
But overall, I'm pleased.

I have wanted a decent sounding Hi Fi for some time and now I've got one. I also needed one that could stand up to a lot of use as we listen to Christian music on a daily basis, even leaving it playing the same CD repeatedly. So far this machine is standing up to all the use and the sound quality is very good. Not used the DAB radio yet but that will be for some future time. It's very easy to set up and use. Sit back in your armchair, point the remote as and when, relax and enjoy the sound.

Having searched around for value and a good Brand name this bit of kit is wonderful, it was bought for one of our grandaughters and is the envy of all and introduced her to DAB which is pretty dam good. Well done Panasonic you have a winner hear from my point of view. The level of sound and clarity from CD/Radio is worthy of a much more expensive unit with all the addtional functions like USB as well.

It may seem old fashioned having a CD player, but for us old folks who like tom own CDs it is great with added bonus of USB port and DAB radio.
