Looking around for quite a while for the right MP3 DAB Player. Not sure when I ordered item that this would be suitable, but am happy with it

I listen to digital radio, but sometimes I want to listen to my own music and don't fancy carrying a mass of gadgets. I've been looking for a long time for a personal DAB radio with a decent MP3 capability, and this appears to be the only product in the UK market that does that.
Overall I think it is a good little gadget to have for a number of reasons:
It is about the same size as an i-pod touch, but much thinner and light.
It comes with a silicon cover that protects the body of it
The external memory allows you to point it in the right direction and use your own earphones.
The controls are simple to use and very responsive.
The sound quality is good and clear
There is an external speaker although quite quiet, is good when going to sleep.
There is an internal memory (I have the 8GB version and there is plenty#
There is an external memory to add even more media
It lasts quite a long longer on MP3 mode than on DAB mode.
There are some flaws, but considering it is such a new product, you would expect a few minor things:
Occasionally a track seems to get stuck like a scratched CD #but it could be my CD is actually scratched!#
When the radio arrived, it had a few flash games, but as soon as I plugged it into my computer, they seemed to disappear and I haven't found them since, but I didn't get it for the games.
The other thing is more related to iRiver, and that is that it took a couple of attempts when I first got it to set it up on the computer, but now it recognises it without any issues. The software is a bit slow, so I just drag and drop instead which works well, you just have to remember to refresh the library on the phone when you disconnect it.
The battery runs out quite quickly on DAB #about 3 hours), but I listen to it at work and just have it charging on the USB cable through my computer.
Overall, this is great gadget. The quality of DAB varies in different places and you have to remember that if you are listening the radio on the go, then you might go out of range occasionally. Staying still, its fine like I do at work.
I would recommend this radio and look forward to seeing how iRiver develop it over the generations to come.

iRiver B30 was bought specifically for its DAB radio. Unsurprisingly, reception can be difficult with its small aerial but am generally satisfied with the DAB radio. However, slighly dissappointed with its music functionality which is nowhere near as good as an IPOD although the sound quality is very good.
