 "Pretty Decent" 2010-07-12

I decided to buy a new hi fi system because my current one was 8 years old, all I wanted was a cheap small and farely decent hi fi system which is exactly what this is. There are a few niggles with it mind you its not perfect. Like the CD drive jumping and sometimes not reading properly but this very rarely happens, another con is if you have dance cd's like me where the current and next track are mixed for a flawless interchange, this system takes about a sec to move onto the next track which breaks the mix up a bit.

Besides that though it is very functional, and for its price totally worth it. I would definatley recomend this

 "excellent for the kitchen" 2009-10-11

Plays almost anything on anything. connect any USB MP3 player or JUST a simple USB memory stick with mp3s or WMAs select "usb Memory" from remote control and play. select "Display" using remote, make sure that ID3 is ON and view folder name and song titles. Select folder by clicking on "tuning/group/pty" arrows on remote. you cannot view folder and songs in a list as you would using an IPOD or an MP3 player but you can still get the names/titles if you follow above instructions. DAB excellent for London. 2 wire antennas included for FM/DAB. And for those wondering if there is an AUDIO connection, well NO RCA, but there is a Female headphones-type AUDIO-IN connection next to the USB input, so using a male-to-male cable (earphone type) you get the same result. All in all it has a CD-player, Radio FM/DAB and the USB connectivity. It does not play cassettes fact for which I bought it. Remember this is not a high-end stereo, it sounds good though and if all you need is a kitchen or student-room stereo, it will do just great!

"Only the CD and FM radio work" 2009-08-05

The DAB and the USB don't work. DAB signal search process in the manual is kinda complicated (talking about enmsembles and stuff - my Sony DAB just finds the channels and works) and even following the limited info in the manual I end up with about 5 channels none of which are audible just the odd bleep - I realise this is a signal issue but the reception round here is not that bad.

I tried putting in a USB key with some mp3 files on and it just sits there reading. There is no useful info in the manual to help trouble shoot it.

Either I have a dud one, am just very unlucky, or all the other reviews here are fake.

"Not a bad little system" 2009-05-09

Not a bad little micro system.

Do not expect too much from the system in terms of Hifi though. Comparing with my Musical Fidelity, Quad speaker outfit, the system sounds thin. But compared to a portable CD player it is very good.

Using an amplified aerial I get good reception on all the dab stations (poor natural reception in my area). Cd player works well. There is a USB port for a pen drive to play MP3, WMA files. This works very well indeed from the remote control and tunes are easy to get to once the remote is used properly for this. There is an auxilary input for an MP3 player etc. Also the FM receiver is quite sensitive. The bass boost helps make low volumes sound OK. But the speaker wires are thinner than bell wire and the speakers just OK.

But if not compared with hifi, this is a very good system that sounds good and has a lot of functions, which all work very well from the remote control. As a kitchen or bedside unit it is very good.
