Bought this as a gift (in silver) so we don't have to keep using the radio on digital tv. Its a lovely little radio to look at, and seems to get good reception with no crackles as long as the arial is fully extended (or it struggles to get anything), but it sounds tinny and doesn't have any controls to adjust the base. I turned the vol up and the sound quality isn't good enough for a normal room.

After searching on Amazon for a DAB radio with the best customer reviews I was delighted to find this gorgeous purple one on the first page. Admittedly I wasn't sure 2 reviews were enough but I knew the person I was buying it for loves purple so I risked it. She was delighted with the look of it but after tuning in the stations (which it does very easily with a scan button) practically all the stations crackled and hissed. The only one that seemed clear was Radio 3, and who actually listens to that?! :-) Rather than send it back we used the output jack to listen to it through headphones and it was much better. So, it looks like the built-in speaker simply can't handle the load, and we only had it up at normal volume. Nevertheless, if you have some speakers kicking about, perhaps that came with a computer that you decided to upgrade, I'd recommend plugging these in. OK, so it's not ideal, and I'm sure for £20-£30 more you can get a DAB radio with a speaker that can cope but this one is rather nice for purple lovers! I guess I could have bought a more expensive one and sprayed it purple. Hmmm, maybe next time.

how cool looking is my new radio!! its fab i love it, no more interference, clear as a bell, looks perfect on my kitchen window sill (oh and purple is my favourite colour, bonus!!)

Gor this as a gift, and I really like the product. It now lives in my kitchen and I use all the time, the stations are crystal clear especially on DAB mode. Would reccommend this product to anyone!!!! fab colour as well
