"SanDisk Extreme III SDHC memory card" 2010-05-01
By Mr. J. M. Hughes
I wondered whether this is a genuine SanDisk product. The box design is different, also the design on the card is not quite right. Also I have trouble downloading images from this card to my PC, so something seems to be not quite as it should be.

 "SanDisk III 30MB/s 4GB" 2009-08-15
By Peter D. Garnett (Manchester, UK)
I recently bought a Panasonic TZ7 and while waiting for the SanDisk III I used my old 2GB SD card. When I put the camera in to continuous shooting mode I found that after 4 shots the camera slowed right down, almost to 1 picture every 2 seconds, while the data was written to the card. However when the SanDisk III arrived I tried the same test and the camera never slowed down. It just continued taking a around a couple of pictures a second and I'm sure that would have gone on until the card was full. I have no hesitation in recommending this card.

"Maybe not worth the higher price tag..." 2009-10-17
By G. Henry-Stogdon (West Norwood)
This is a very good card and came at a reasonable price but is not so much faster than the transcend 133x 16Gb card I got for nearly half the price. My digital recorder tests the upload and download speeds of CF cards and then gives an average of the two. The difference was not much more than 25%... It is much faster than the HAMA 8Gb cards I bought, though. More than twice the speed.

 "Fast, reliable and affordable" 2009-09-27
By Blademan (UK)
I bought this card to go with my Canon 5d mkII and have no regrets at all. I thought that I should be getting one of the more expensive super fast cards but now I know there's no need. It writes full HD movies fast and has so much room that you don't need to keep changing cards. Coupled with Sandisk's unrivaled reliability, this is a great buy!

 "Nice Card for a EOS 50D" 2009-09-06
By S. Grundy (Liverpool)
Good quality card, havent had any problems at all with it, when shooting in RAW format, i can take around 15 photos at 6.3 FPS before the camera slows down and things have to start catching up with each other, when shooting JPGs it seems to just go and go and go. Holds around 650 RAW shots at full resi, and over 999 if shooting JPGS, i cant say exactly how many JPGs as the counter only goes up to 999. Very nice card, would be another but dont think i will need it.

 "Sandisk 16GB for Nikon D300" 2009-09-04
By P. J. Searby
This card basically works fine with a D300 (D300 original purchased Feb08) it said it could take 607 raw files but with 15 left to take it stopped and said card error, after turning off an on it was fine. So with this limit in mind a capacity of 592 raw shots is still worth having.

 "Enough speed for a 40d" 2009-08-27
By Chris Hoare (UK)
Using this with my Canon 40d I can take full speed JPG photos more or less indefinitely at full speed which is excellent at events. It arrives over-packaged; only thing i kept from the box; case, manual, warranty card was the cf card itself.

16 Gb is really good capacity for a 40d; its high enough that my camera stays on 999 photos in raw mode for hundreds of photos before dropping off and was a better choice price-wise than the high capacity cards.

By Mr. Lionel J. Keen (UK)
Mine was delivered very quickly. It was however Class 10 (not class 6 as advertised) so I am well satisfied. Balances out the previous card purchased - advertised as 30MB/s but was 15MB/s when arrived. Won this time! There seems to be a lottery on Amazon (on SD cards) as to whether one gets the product one thinks one is buying. This seems to apply to Sandisk (see previous reviews).

Bought to replace my broken class 6 card for my D90. There is a noticeable difference in speed especially when shooting burst. With class 6 I could fire off about 13-15 shots until the buffer ran out but with this one, I can keep shooting continuously. Great speed and with 8gb it has plenty of space for any situation.

A good fast card, probably the best I've ever used since I was taking shots of wildlife and needed fast burst shots. Very pleased with it and feel it is well up to the normal high standars of Extreme SD cards

"Not very good for readyboost compared to others" 2010-03-19
By Mr. R. Burnikell (England)
I bought this card for the sole reason of using it for readyboost on a Win7 64bit PC. For those that don't know readyboost (which uses random read/write) places very different demands on Flash cards compared to a camera (which uses serial read/write) . Before you read on, I am certain this card would be superb for camera type use, but my need was for readyboost.

I have been using a Samsung 8Gb class 6 SDHC card for some time and was so pleased I thought I would go that bit further with this card which is bigger (16Gb) and should have been faster (class 10 = min 10MB/s). However when I received it and put it through some testing I found that when formatted as NTFS (required for readyboost use above 4GB) performance dropped significantly compared to FAT32. For random read/writes on NTFS the card only reliably achieved 4MB/s (Class 4), whereas my 8Gb Samsung card (class 6 = min 6Mb/s) reliably achieves 6MB/s as it should.

So in short this card can be used for readyboost but if that is your intention be aware my tests showed I was only getting 4Mb/s random read/write on NTFS out of it.

"Beware Class 6 cards sent out even though class 10 is pictured" 2010-06-04
By M. Bradford (UK)
I haven't tried this product so I'm not reviewing the actual product. As with some previous reviews, despite the product details clearly showing a class 10, I received class 6 cards. At the time of writing I have complained to Amazon and no doubt they will respond. However, I needed these cards urgently, the inconvenience of return and ordering again isn't an option. As this issue has been raised before in one or two previous reviews there's no excuse that I can see for Amazon to misrepresent the product they are sending out.

By Robert killeen (England)
The item arrived Packed well and delivered in good time. Only problem was they sent the wrong class of SD card , I ordered a class 10 and a class 6 was sent. I didn't realise until the card was in the camera and delivered a poor response whilst continual shooting. It is a very small symbol on the card so can be excused for mistake My advice is check SDHC classification first. Otherwise I know the card will work well have purchased before .

"This IS the correct product - Speed class 10 / 30MBps speed" 2010-05-14
By Mr. S. R. Coles (London, UK)
See that little white "10" in the "C" shape on the front of the card? That means that the card is rated "Speed Class 10". It means that the card can read and write data very fast, which is important to those who want to shoot HD video, or sequential bursts of high quality images. Most SD cards are have a speed 2-6, but 10 is the new standard. It's not important to everyone, and if you are just going to take pictures on your compact it probably wont make any difference. Frankly, you can get a 4GB memory card for a lot cheaper if you don't want this high speed data transfer.

I was a little concerned about ordering this, as I had read some of the previous reviews stating that this was not the correct product, and other customers had received a speed 6 card. So I emailed Stanford Components and they came straight back to say it was a speed class 10. When ordering I still semi-expected it to be wrong, but after receiving I can confirm this is exactly the product as shown in the picture - speed class 10.

I don't doubt that other customers may have received the wrong product before, but it seems that the vendor has got their act together. So this is the right product at a good price. Just wanted to put the record straight.

 "Poor service" 2010-03-18
By singer (UK)
I rate the item as 4 stars but the one star review is for the fact that it was wrongly advertised on Amazon

Also I sent several e mails to Amazon about this order and got nowhere and eventually gave up. It is now so

long since I made the purchase that I can't remember the details. All told, poor service from Amazon.
