I've had this a while now but have only just realised how good it is. Whilst I had been impressed by it's ease of use and functionality, I had initially been disapointed by the sound quality through it's mono speaker. No longer though - I recently bought a Logitech Z323 2.1 speaker kit (about £50) and connecting through the RCA terminals (rather than the headphone jack) has blown me away. Absolutely superb sound quality with all types of music and all sources that I've tried so far. This is a fantastic product and great value for money.

Bought the refurbished one and the company gave a good service when I had to return the first one. It's an excellent bedside radio. Wanted it mainly as an Ipod dock with DAB and the wifi radio has been a pleasant surprise. Lots of stations listed under genre or country, and where available the podcasts are listed too. Was fairly easy to set it up too.



Only gave it 4 stars as I can't see the time when the ipod is working.



Once you get your head around the menus it's very user friendly.



Little remote is quite good with raised buttons.



Overall very pleased with it.

I was really looking forward to getting this radio but I'm quite disappointed with it and will probably avoid Revo products now. It has lots of capabilities and potential but the basics have been forgotten; there is no way to adjust the tone of the sound so you're stuck with whatever is broadcast or streamed, and secondly the volume control is very poor because it only goes up in stages rather than being smooth, and coupled with this there is way too much difference between levels so to get it at exactly the volume level that you want is almost impossible - it might be all right for a kitchen but its use it as an alarm clock which is what I want it for, where volume level is all important, is limited.

This product is fantastic and well worth the money. The DAB Reception is very good, The internet radio allows you to listen to radio stations around the world. The FM Radio is very good and picks up well.

The IPOD interface is exceptional and the remote allows you to control your IPOD in many ways. The display is not bright at night to keep you awake and the remote allows you to do everything from the comfort of your bed. The alarms are also well thought out.

The only way this product could improve is to provide a separate large clock on the front display panel, and to improve the sound output slightly as it can distort at higher volume. The option to add a second speaker for stereo output would be nice also, and maybe a tone control.

In short this product is very good, a bit pricey, but worth the cash.

I had been after a DAB radio for sometime but I have been waiting for just the right product to come along (something that'll last 10 years like my last radio!), finally I settled on this Revo Radiostation. I had seen some good reviews and the long features list convinced me that, while expensive, this product would do the trick...



I have now had my Revo Radiostation for about a week now and I am only just getting around to exploring all its features, I think Revo have hit all the right buttons with this product.



So, we have FM radio, DAB+, WiFi (for internet radio, podcasts and network streaming), iPod and MPort mode (for connecting any non-iPod mp3 players via a 3mm headphone size connector), date/ clock, alarms and sleep functions.



All the main features are accessed via a keypad on top of the radio, and despite that long list of features a "back to basics" approach on the menu system means that its easy to navigate and setup. The keypad is a little hard to use from your bed (if you can't look down on the top of the radio directly) but a small remote from which you can access most features helps with this.



Self tuning for FM and DAB picks up a range of stations with zero fuss. The clock and date functions can also be setup form either the DAB signal or internet connection which makes that a breeze also.



Connecting to your WiFi network is a little more complex as entering your network key is a little tricky, but you only need to do this once of course, and the Revo scans and finds the network in no time. Internet radio stations are easy to locate from a list of genres or locations or from the search feature, this is the same if you are looking for podcasts.



Streaming music from your PC is a bit more tricky (especially with Vista) as you need to configure Vista to allow this from your networking control panel - setting your home network to "Private" and allowing "Guest" access is the key.



My criticisms would be, one that the sound is a little weak, the unit itself is small and light, and it fails to really produce a good base range (it does have stereo line-out however so you could route it through any amp + speaker setup that you may have). And two, while it came with 6 or 7 adapters for iPods it didn't include an iPod Touch adapter, so I have to use the white one that came with my iPod so it looks a little odd on this black unit.



However, my main use for this is as a bedside radio so the issue with weak base is not a problem because I use it on a low volume and as a wake up call. The alarms and sleep functions are excellent for this, you can set up to 4 alarms, including "once only", "daily", "weekdays only", "weekends only" tell each alarm how to wake you up - either FM, DAB or with an internet station.



Finally the sleep function allows you to set the radio to turn off after 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.



All in all, this is an excellent, "future proof" all round radio, for a bedroom it is difficult to fault. It wakes me up, sends me to sleep, charges my iPod, lets me listen to podcasts, any one of 11 thousand radio stations or stream my entire music collection from my PC to my bedside. It's not quite perfect, but very close and therefore still deserves 5 stars...

This radio is produced by a small firm in Scotland and is designed to have a retro appearance aqka the sixties.



I think the manufacturers have succeeded in the ambition although the radio is packed with the latest technology.



It covers FM DAB and DAB+ ( if this becomes available) and Internet radio, it is easy to operate and connects immediately to the Internet server.



The only criticism I have is that the control buttons are a bit fiddly as is the joystick control, when selecting an item in the menu it is easy to select the wrong one unless the joystick is handled very carefully.



All in all this is a very good radio with good sound quality for a relatively small speaker and with DAB+ capability is "future proofed"



Price wise, I think it would be an even more attractive vbuy if the price were a little lower as it is one of the most expensive DAB/Internet radios on the market.

Everything about the Revo Heritage says Quality - this is one wi-fi radio that delivers the goods as well as looking good too. This radio has (as other reviewers have mentioned) a retro classic look mixed with a minimalistic modern look - it is very elegant and the designers have succeeded (in my opinion) in making this the standout radio in its category- like a previous reviewer I couldn't help thinking it had a hint of Apple-style about it. It hasn't got many competitors - the Roberts 83i and the Evoke Flow are mentioned - the Logitech Squeezebox is an internet-only competitor but has some severe shortcomings that push it out of this bracket (in my opinion)



The interface has been well thought out - a recessed volume control, mode, menu buttons and a joystick button to navigate, - which is actually very easy to use and to navigate with. There are also 5 preset buttons. And the real winner here is a large snooze/sleep button on the top of the radio. No more menus to navigate to snooze or to set sleep. Works well too - just what I've been after for a long time. There are two alarms to set - you can set a weekday or weekend alarm (or both) if you want to. And wake up to DAB or Internet Radio - this is a feature that some of us have been looking forward to for a while.



The OLED display is beautiful - Roberts 83i owners will note that it looks very similar to the Roberts display but instead of being a backlit LCD this is a cyan OLED. It works well. The menu options are similar to the 83i too - but there is a Loudness setting on the graphic equaliser and the LastFM love/ban buttons are slightly different to the 83i. The display can be dimmed down at night time - there are display brightness settings for normal use and standby use.



The sound quality of this radio can only be described as outstanding - for speech and music - and there are plenty of EQ settings for everyone, including the option to define your own. I think this is probably the best sounding radio I've ever listened to, it makes me want to listen to the radio more, just to hear it in action.

If there is one thing to gripe about, it is the overly coarse volume increments - I find that the difference between a volume setting of 4 and a volume setting of 5 in DAB mode is huge - 4 is almost too quiet, 5 is definitely too loud. If Revo are listening, please could you update the software to make the increments smaller? But this is still a 5-star radio.



The included Last FM feature is great if you like music, the internet radio facility works fine - you can customise your list of favourite stations through the Frontier Silicon Wi-Fi radio website by registering your radio - and the BBC stations have podcasts associated with each of them in Internet mode, pretty much a Listen Again feature and this makes finding programmes from the past week easy to do using the radio.



DAB reception on this radio is good in my location - I don't need to extend the aerial, but this will depend where you live - the Revo Heritage picked up over 20 stations when I scanned it for the first time without extending the aerial. Oh and as a bonus there is an Ipod dock which means you can recharge your ipod or iphone and play tracks that are stored on it through the radio. This is a great feature and works really well, especially if you use the included Remote Control.



All in all this is a brilliant radio - well designed and with looks and features that will last. If you want a wi-fi radio that works and can be used to wake you up in the mornings with DAB or internet radio, this is the one to go for - it is more expensive than it's competitors, but it's a lot better than it's competitors.

The Revo Heritage is a high end Internet Radio with many many other features.

As others have said it is near the top of the price bracket meaning it is in the same league as the Pure Avanti Flow or Sensia and the Roberts WM201



The radio has a very nice ultramodern look with a bit of throwback retro classic in the mix.

In short, it looks fantastic - also anyone who owns any apple products will like it as it is the same brushes aluminium :)

It does not just look good, the controls are nicely laid out as well, buttons are there only when necessary yet i love the 5 presets which can be set differently for each playback mode - there are 5 presets on the machine yet the remote lets you store an aditional 5 which are then only accessible by the remote.

The only part which some may object to is the at times fiddly joystick control system. Personally I don't mind it but then again I mostly use the remote as it is closer to hand.

Of course once we have the buttons, it is difficult to ignore the screen, and what a screen it is.

The screen is OLED like the Pure evoke flow/sensia yet is a much nicer cyan colour rather than Pure's garish green.

It is sharp crisp and has a decent size of font - something that I found the other Revo's lacked as the typeface was so small it was almost illegible.



Of course the main reason you are going to buy this is for its radio functions, and it delivers once again.

FM and DAB/DAB+ is delivered nicely with very good reception - on par with and at times excelling Pure's DAB radio's which I rate quite highly for their good reception.

Yet the main reason you are going to buy this is its Internet Radio functionality. Again it delivers. You have access to hundreds of thousands of stations the world over.

These stations are organised by country - and region/state if applicable which makes finding your favourite station easy.

You can also enter URL's of the more obscure stations that it may not have on file - I have never had a problem with it not automatically finding a station although I have entered URL's so that I could listen to higher quality streams.

It also comes with a Region specific preset - i.e. UK stations for UK german ones for germany etc. which is useful for accessing some stations quickly.

It is important to note you can save as many station as you want to your favourites and it will always give you access to the last 4 station you listened to.

The wi-fi signal strength is also very good something very important with such a radio...

Now the part you probably want to hear most, Sound quality,

WOW is how I'd describe it. It is the cleanest reproduction i have ever heard from a radio this small. It may only have a single driver but it really does not matter. It sound Fantastic. My only gripe would be that the volume should be limited lower as it distorts at high volume but that is seriously loud for such a small device. Bear in mind this is in the same room as some B&W 685's so it has some serious competition, yet i still think the sound reproduction - especially at low volumes is awesome.

It also functions as an ipod dock which can also be used to wake up to in the morning - great for charging your ipod before a heavy day's commuting.

The interface is very fast as well which makes it easier to use.

There are functions that I don't use like the Last FM and media server functionality but I would expect these to be pretty damn good as well.

It also has a hose of outputs including an awesome of addition of an Optical Toslink output great for feeding an internet radio signal into high end hi-fi equipment!

The last thing i want to draw attention to is the most important part to me.

This is the only internet radio with decent speakers I could find that would allow you to listen to Internet radio as an alarm. The rest - pure evoke flow, pure avanti ect will not. Something which pissed me off greatly with the evoke flow...



So all in all a great device with very few problems I can truly recommend it, it may not be cheap but it is a damn good investment, in my opinion at least.

This is a superb radio / ipod dock. It's at the top end of the price bracket for its category but it has absolutely everything that you could wish for in terms of features - DAB, DAB+, Wifi Internet, FM, IPod dock, etc, etc. As I say, for the price, you would expect all that. However, what you also get is a fantastic sound quality, really intuitive and easy-to-use controls and it just looks so uber-cool in a non-flashy way. It will charge your IPhone / IPod and you can use the remote to control the IPod. I've got it in our kitchen which is quite a large room with high ceilings and it still manages to fill it with impressive sound. I love it!

I purchased a Revo Ikon at Christmas, shortly after they did a software update.



After contacting Revo to ask why since the update i have no Bass and Treble controls they informed me it would be fixed in the next update. The Ikon still hasnt been updated and it sounds poor set to all of the presets.



The internet radio works brilliant on it sometimes, then other times it disconnects all the time. I have an old Piko WiFi radio and never get problems. DAB reception in my area is medium and the Ikon does not pick it up well at all, yet my Pure radios all have a great signal. FM is rubbish, cannot even get a station based 5 miles away without continuous hissing.



Final thing is the optical out on the back, great idea but when linking into my surround sound system with TV, V+ box and PS3 it is the only device that doesnt give enough signal so i have to plug it in on its own which is really annoying!



Overall feels cheap for the money and needs a big software update. I have since seen much better docks for less :-(

Very Dissapointing - a truly great concept let down by poor build quality, with a low definition screen, very poor FM reception (could only find 4 channels on auto search and no DAB) compared to 30 odd on my aging bedside radio with a simple wire aerial and I'm in a DAB reception area!



iPod connection was also iffy and worse of all the sound was atrocious - with once speaker clearly not working at all well - so quality control also an issue. I returned as faulty for a full refund. It did however connect wirelessly and very simply to my network, and did pick up internet radio well.



However if you want network connectivity to pick up on-line content, internet radio and any CDs ripped to your music collection etc and you are not worried about an iPod dock, rush over and get the Logitech Squeezebox Boom. Beats this Revo Ikon hands down with much greater functionality (other than direct iPod connection but even this can be done with the supplied aux audio jack). You'll get enormously richer and clearer sound and save yourself £100 in the process!

.REVO IKON WIFI/DAB/DAB+/FM WIRELESS NETWORKED TOUCHSCREEN INTERNET RADIO WITH iPOD DOCK



I bought the Revo Ikon, partially influenced by the two preceding reviews, from Peter Tyson, via Amazon, for my study and because it provided both wireless and wired connection to my LAN for the internet radio. Peter Tyson's delivery efficiency and prompt refund, when I returned it, was first class.

I read all I could about the Revo Ikon, including Revo's website, which didn't fully reveal the detail (unlike the Roberts and HomeVision websites, which included the fully detailed manual, for the functional, very connective and almost half-the-price Roberts Radio Stream 83i which I am now buying#. I live in a poor FM/DAB area,unless you have roof top antenna - which I do# and when I set up the Revo and scanned for FM via its sole telescopic aerial input, there were several stations, but the background `mush' made them unlistenable. As for DAB, same input, but when I scanned, I got NO stations at all #compared with about 12 DAB stations I get on my very basic antenna-connected DAB radio in the kitchen. I'm sure the Revo Ikon is great in good FM/DAB reception area but I think it's a big mistake on Revo's part to assume everyone has good FM/Dab reception, by not providing a co-ax aerial socket input, in additional to the telescopic aerial #both of which the Stream 83i does provide.

Undoubtedly, the Revo Ikon is a very sleek design, but for circa £280, as far as I'm concerned, it is style over substance and if my broadband goes down, effectively I have no radio. I couldn't fault the Touch Screen and Internet radio functions and the ease of set-up but the remote control, minimally described wherever I looked, and with only about 25 percent functionality, compared with the Roberts, which is fully functional#, was not worth having. The location of the radio is on a wall shelf above and in front of my desk and the limitations of the r/c would have meant me standing up to select requirements via the touch screen for 75 percent of the time - not inviting as a senior citizen. Before buying the Revo Ikon, I suggest, apart from its touch screen, that you carefully compare its specs against other, significantly less expensive offerings

I'm very happy with the Revo Ikon. I brought it as a replacement for the Kitchen DAB radio mainly so I could use it's dock to listen to podcasts on my Rockbox'ed iPod while working in the Kitchen. It does support an auxiliary 3.5mm Jack just in case nothing else works but I've the dock has been fine. It supports the basic Stop/Play/Forward/Back interface to the iPod although to be honest I often just navigate on the iPod itself.



The touch screen is a little sluggish in response but perfectly usable. The interface is consistent and does a good job of integrating all the various digital features including streaming Internet radio, podcasts as well as my personal favourite of last.fm integration.



While I wouldn't want to compare the sound quality with a proper Hi-Fi setup it's more than up to the task with a pretty wide volume range when required. For shear range of features it does exactly what it says on the tin and I'm sure it will give good service for many years.

I bought the Revo Ikon clock radio for the wife to use in the kitchen with her iTouch. Her old unit had poor radio reception and the iPod dock was broken.

I don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled to do so because this unit exceeded my expectations.

The iPod dock is good with custom plastic inserts to ensure a good fit for the iPod and so it won't move. The colour touch screen makes navigation of everything so much easier. The FM radio is very good and much better than a regular clock radio unit - probably because it actually has a proper telescopic antenna. The DAB radio is a huge improvement over AM radio and it handles DAB+ which is the standard here in Australia. The unit streamed music off my PC without me ever touching the PC or having to load anything onto it because this unit understands the Windows PC file system - nothing has been that easy before. Being Wi-fi enabled, I didn't have to wire anything, so it sits easily on the kitchen bench, The sound quality doesn't blow me away, but is better than the previous unit she had which was supposed to be the best around, so I'm not disappointed. My daughter commented this morning that she would have to get used to AM radio (via DAB) sounding like FM radio. Best of all, the internet radio works perfectly which allows the wife to listen to her favourite station in the US. An unexpected surprise is that she can listen to internet podcasts streaming directly to the unit without having to load them into her iPod. To top it all off, it has one big volume knob on the top where you can't miss it, so no pressing buttons or fiddling around for the volume. All I can say is that I like it a lot - it's like moving 30 years into the future. Congratulation to the Revo team.

Got one of these radios last year, not long after receiving it, it stopped turning on, after several phone calls to the factory and unanswered emails, I sent it back (At my own cost via registered post). They kept it for a week, and sent it back stating there was nothing wrong... one day later same fault again!!!! Was rudely told by the "aftercare" department that i'd have to send it back again... at my own cost again of £13!!!! It's been in the spareroom, still in the box ever since. The quality of service was absolutely shocking and I'll NEVER BUY THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN!!! BE WARNED!!!!

I use this amazing piece of electronic finery every day.

The built in speaker (obviously mono) isn't going to wow anyone but does the job if you just want a gentle background musical flow going on. I'm using a pair of Logitech Z10 Interactive USB Speakers with the bLik RS.

In my opinion that's why its so cheap for all the other built-in tech you get but it has the advantage that audio can be outputted via either min-jack (Connector for stereo headphones) or red and black coaxial connectors (for better quality stereo speakers).

The DAB functions do exactly what they say on the tin, and allow me to listen to stations with a clear crisp quality that I could never get from FM.

Connecting it up to the internet via WiFi (The interface is idiot proof) added so much extra value by giving me access to pretty much the entire worlds worth of radio programming and podcasts.

Once upon a time you would have had to have been an old radio ham with all sorts of expensive receiver kit and antenna knowledge to access this much radio content.

Found this whilst looking for a Dab radio. I thought I'd give it a try because of the price.

The best thing I've done for ages. It does exactly what it says and despite what other reviews state it is easy to set up and work. To be able to hear Dab, Dab+ (when it comes out), FM, Internet radio, music from my computer and from my mp3 player and to have it sound good is truly superb. It even has 4 different alarm settings! I went looking for a new radio, having been irritated almost to the point of death by people such as Zoe Ball and Sarah Kennedy being on my existing radio. Changing channel just produced more rubbish, so a change had to come. The Revo Blik RadioStation hybrid was available from several sources, but Hughes Direct on Amazon had the best price by a long way. I placed an order, which was delivered promptly. A small error by me was quickly and courteously dealt with by the company, and I was in business!



The radio itself worked like a dream straight out of the box, finding FM and DAB stations. Setting up the wireless Internet connection took a bit more effort, but was not hard. The only issue was the fiddly method of entering my router's security code. Anyone doing this should remember that the Revo is case sensitive. So it is vital to find the right line of letters/ numerals. Once done, I had thousands of Internet stations at my disposal. Registering on-line, allows users to compile their own favourites, which can then be accessed via the units remote. The remote is my only grip, as it is about the size of a credit card, and has writing on it that I found almost impossible to read without a magnifying glass. Bear it in mind that I am not a spectacle wearer, and have 2-/20 vision. So the only way to use this comfortably, is to memories what controls are where. Operating it in the dark, in a bedroom at night for example, can be a bit tricky. Also, there is no mute button. Quality wise, the Revo is well made, the front panel large and clear, and the sound produced from the built-in speakers is very good. If you use the connections on the back to link it to a proper amp, then the unit really comes to life, sounding fabulous.



In summary, and can recommend this product wholeheartedly, and Hughes Direct as a supplier.

I loved this radio on first sight, compact and stylish perfect for a bedside table with i-pod docking. It was very easy to set up but irritatingly the speakers buzzed slightly at certain frequencies marring the pleasure of listening to mellow jazz or clasical music. I returned it after a couple of days and got a replacement in black instead of white both nice but as minor niggle the black seem to pick up or show more dust from static. Criticaly this one was realy dificult to set up as the controls kept freezing. Once set up it continued to freeze once or twice a day necessitating turning it off at the mains each time. I did a factory reset and checked for software updates without success. So sadly that was also returned and I bought a Roberts 83i instead, fantastic sound and equaly easy set up but no i-pod dock - auxilary input instead and only 5 presets per mode instead of 10 with the Domino. The Roberts is also better in that it is not as bright at night time, the volume control is graduated more smoothly and you can read the time when the radio is on (miniscule type on the Domino). A great shame looks fantastic!

I recently bought this item after searching high and low for a suitable music system that had DAB radio, internet radio, works as a clock radio, works with an iphone that doesn't need to be put in airplane mode and does not look dull like so many other systems.



This item arrived and I was not aware that it was so compact but this works well for me as it sits on a small bedside table. The style is like no other and it is something that will lost a long time because it is so unique and has many up to date functions.



There are some negatives but haven't really put me off, these are that it only has two alarms (I need more!)and the snooze works by pressing the joystick in the middle which can be a little tricky in the morning and if you press any of the other buttons by mistake it turns the alarm off. The OLED screen is also a bit too bright for me but I just turn it away at a slight angle and it reduces the glare. I would give this item 9 out of 10 if I could but as the rating is out of 5 I don't feel it's worth as low as 4 stars so gave it 5.



The sound is very impressive for such a small unit and the remote control has a superb design. The whole unit just screams out quality.



I would highly recommend this item for anyone looking for an ipod dock that is fully functional, sounds great and has looks that you will impress and intrigue.
