"LG 50PQ3000 50-inch TV" 2010-05-10
By Michaela Guilmoto (Guernsey,Channel Islands)
The Good:
Very good value for money.
Arrived quickly and without damage.
Easy to setup.
Good picture quality.
Good viewing angle.
The Bad:
To change the aspect ratio, you have to go into t.v. menu, but easy to find.
The TV attracts a lot of dust, due to the static.
Overall:
Extremely good T.V. for the price paid. (As could only get a 26" for this price in Guernsey)

"Small price, big package" 2009-12-03
By Darren M
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to write the following, but if you use google you can get the unlock code which basically turns this TV into the 50PQ6000 giving you full DIVX playback through the USB port. It also gives you most of the advanced colour tuning features making this the best bang for the buck by far. Also, the DIVX playback off of USB is far better than my PS3, kinda surprised about that.
The good: The colour depth is great, number of inputs are fantastic, and the 600Hz bit doesn't look fake. Next time you're looking at movies playing on multiple LCD/Plasma TV's in the store, look at the ones with the supposed high-end motion correction - they're horrible! Somehow the motion correction effects remove all of the Hollywood magic and make movies look home-made. I bought this TV for watching movies on so that's not cool with me. Last, there has been a lot of talk about plasma's having image retention on them, but I've had no problems. By accident (I'm sure it'll happen to you) I've left a static screen on for a few hours. The worst that happened was I could see faint lines on the next movie/tv show that I watched for ~5 minutes and then it was gone. If the 5 minute image retention after leaving a dvd on all night bugs you, get an LCD.
The bad: Not quite as bright as LCD screens, and only 1 optical audio in port (I'm sure that won't bug most people, but for my use it's a bit of a pain). Last bit, the TV stand isn't the greatest which has me worried when I've got lots of people over. I may have to get a wall mount for her, but it's holding up so far.

"Poor Delievery" 2009-11-27
By jo blog
Well i never got the chance to review the LG 50PQ3000 50 Inch TV because when it arrived and i unpacked it, the screen was cracked.
I was not very impressed with the delievery of the TV, only 1 man delievered the TV, to my astonishment he dragged a big 50inch TV out the van on his own, on the tv box it said 2 men should of delievered the TV.
Sent the TV back to Amazon, received very fast refund which i was pleased about but very disapointed with courier service, would not order another TV of line after this experience.

"good tv for the price" 2010-05-22
By Mr J R Hartley (sheffield uk)
ordered this 50" panni but did not arrive in time stated as there was a mix up, the supplier likes to confirm that you will actually be in on the day of delivery so tries to get in touch, but i have no land line and the messages they were sending to my mobile just didn't work, anyway i got in touch directly with supplier after the deadline for delivery and sorted it out.the picture is good especially in full HD ie freesat or PS3 but the sound not so.i couldn't manage to get the balance right between peoples voices, music and sound effects forever switching volume up and down with the remote also there is no optical out for sound but has phono plug output to run through an external amp but overall still worth the money as it replaces a samsung 40" LCD which cost nearly twice as much.

"no fuss beautiful big screen" 2010-04-18
By G. Mcadam (Edinburgh)
Okay. Bought this for mum after her 32" Sharp started its death throws (not a dig at Sharp BTW - mums was an old model. They make fine TVs and I am more than happy with my 37" 1080p Sharpy).
With her failing eyesight, its no surprise that she loves the size of the Panny screen (after initially being utterly overwhelmed by it - amazing how quickly one can become used to a relative wall of plasma!) and best of all, the remote is simply laid out with big clear buttons. It could be made far simpler, as could the onscreen UI, but I give kudos points to Panny for building a remote that my 70 year old mother can fathom!
Havent tried it with any HD sources yet (except for the awesome upscaling Toshiba DVD player I bought mum couple years back) but if your old dears are like mine and fail to see any difference between NTSC laserdisc and 1080p bluray, its not going to be a problem anyway :)
At this price, and if you are happy with 720p HD over 1080, its a steal. I mean I actually feel guilty.
A work of art at the price. Highly HIGHLY recommended.

"I love my new TV" 2010-01-09
By H. Gavurin (Stanmore, Middx.)
Having carried out some research, I decided that I wanted a Panasonic, Plasma, Widescreen TV to stand on my new modular unit. Having looked through Amazon's many models of Panasonic TVs, I fixed on a 50" model at a very good price. This was delivered just before Christmas and I am delighted with the quality of picture. I feel that I am sitting in my private cinema.

"WOW!" 2009-12-22
By Debs (Somerset)
This tv in my opinion is great value for money. I bought through amazon like with everything else, checked the reviews and WOW! It's amazing, the picture quality is second to none, it's not too heavy!! and would I recommend it, yes! I went out to comet and currys to have a look at some televisions first and frankly was blown away by what's on the market. This telly is £799 thru currys and a lot more expensive thru many other retailers. It took a few minutes to set itself up and away you go. I would definitely recommend it and am looking forward to watching some great movies over xmas.

got this TV, as well as a 42" panny TH42PX70 and an lg 26LB75, despite this being the biggest screen and like the rest only hd ready don't be fooled. This is much better than LG models I have viewed in person LG50PS3000 and LG50PG6000. You cannot beat this television. Brilliant vibrancy to colors and edge definition is second only to £1000+ models. SD is great but if your viewing blu-ray, you get the picture of full hd quality it is absolutely fantastic. I brought this one from Dixon's however for £599.99!!YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!!

"Plasma Problems" 2010-05-23
By J Edwards
If you are considering buying a Plasma TV, check with your local Radio Investigaion Service first (Ofcom in UK) Plasma Sets are known for radiating RF (radio frequency)noise from the screen, which is picked up on your broadcast radio receivers. It is also a potential source of interference to aeronautical services. Also, if radiated noise gets onto your phone line, the noise can slow down your internet connection (information being sent down the line has problems due to noise on the line). Do a search for 'Plasma TV QRM' or 'Plasma TV Interference' on Youtube and see what the interference sounds like. Not nice!

"Superb product at great price" 2010-04-26
By C. Chandrasen (UK)
I bought the lG 50PQ6000 three weeks ago from amazon and I am still fascinated with the product. I could not believe having such a powerful and great TV at such a good price. With the numerous features offered and the super quality of image, I would definitely recommend the 50 inches LG TV.
I have two LCD in my home, The first one I bought in a high street well known shop and then the second one from amazon. They both play well but the only difference is that I saved atleast £200 from the one I bought on amazon
LG 50PQ6000 is a reliable TV and Amazon is the place to buy it. WELL DONE!

"50" LG Plasma TV" 2010-04-25
By Broomstone (UK)
Am not a technical expert or even a technical novice, but we're pleased with the TV - it does what it says on the box, and so far (3 weeks)it's been great - we use it with a Topfield box so have not used the integrated Free View. Can't say I notice the size of the TV when I watch it (tend to get involved in the programme) but when walking into the room it seems big! size wise - the only thing I can say is that I notice is that people look Older... cos I can see the wrinkles.
Only problem we had was with delivery - Amazon's quoted expected delivery date (for which I took a day off work) didn't happen - Amazon amended the expected date on that morning! - was not pleased.
However, the carrier HDN, telephoned soon after to ask when they could deliver - the next week - and the delivery was on time, by two very helpful delivery men who helped me set up the TV.

"LG, HD, PLASMA TELEVISION" 2010-04-23
By john hall
I BOUGHT THIS TELEVISION AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH AND READING OTHER POSITIVE REVIEWS. HOWEVER, THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD BUYING FROM AMAZON. I RECIEVED THE TV ON SAID DELIVERY DATE BUT WHEN I REMOVED THE PACKAGING THE SCREEN WAS SMASHED AND HAD HUGE CRACKS FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. I WAS REALY DISAPOINTED AS IT HAD OBVIOSLY LEFT THE FACTORY LIKE THAT AS THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS SIGNS THAT THE PACKAGING HAD BEEN DAMAGED. AFTER THE INITIAL SHOCK I INFORMED AMAZON TO HAVE THE TV PICKED UP AND RETURN MY MONEY......IT IS NOW THREE WEEKS AND STILL NO MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT, I STILL HAVEN'T GOT A TV BUT WHEN I DO DECIDE TO BUY I WILL GO ELSEWHERE AS IT IS A LONG DRAWN OUT PROCESS IF YOU ARE SEEKING A REFUND AND NEED THE MONEY TO BUY AGAIN.
