I bought this in place of a faulty Roberts Revival. It cost a third of the price, has good solid build quality and has excellent and useful features (DAB+ ready, stereo sound, rewinds for 15 minutes, 50 presets, tone controls, excellent DAB reception and nice design). The optional ChargePak is an excellent idea too and very useful - I like the fit and forget approach rather than having to remove the batteries to charge them.
The sound is also excellent - very nice clear and balanced sound, and you can adjust the treble and bass to your own liking if you wish to. It also has a 2 year warranty and looks much nicer in real life than it does in the photographs - the rubber finish is quite classy and smart. I have no links with Pure, but am really pleased by this excellent product. Superb value for money. It does everything a radio should do and it does it all really well. I can't think of any negatives at all. An impressive radio.

This little thing is fantastic. I haven't really listened to much radio before, but was talked into buying a DAB radio by a friend, and I haven't regretted it. I'm now addicted to Radio 3. I didn't even realise I particularly liked classical music.
The radio has great, clear sound which fills up the room. I think it's really worth spending that little bit extra for a better quality radio if you're going to be doing much music listening on it. Unlike the Pure One Classic, this has stereo sound. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, it might also be worth checking out the Pure Evoke range.
Unlike similarly priced Roberts Radios, this has useful ground-breaking features like an alarm clock and kitchen timer. It has standard line-in and line-out connections which work with normal iPods and earphones. It also lacks annoying-nags. I'm a very light sleeper and like the fact that the little screen's backlight can be turned off (or set to turn on for 10 seconds or so when you press a button.)
I've also bought the chargepak for this - a lithium laptop-style rechargeable battery that pops in the bottom and now allows me to listen plugged in in my bedroom, and then take the radio downstairs and continue listening without taking the power cable with me.
I didn't originaly intend to buy this in cream, but I found a special offer on a cream one so went for it anyway. I'm now glad that I did, as the cream looks a lot better in reality than comes across in the photos.
Overall I'm very pleased with this radio. Nothing has annoyed me about it yet. It is recommended as a best buy by various magazines, so I trust the sound quality is as good or better than similarly priced competing models, though I have not tried any others out myself.

Delivered at 7:30am.. and woke my neighbour first. However, it felt like my birthday had come early. I love it and managed to master the controls very quickly for a techno-phobe... even presetting the stations was simple enough. It looks,feels and sounds great. Can't wait to use the 'sleep function'..

I think it's a lovely radio the fact that you can rewind radio is great plus it let's you read what is playing and with the battery it's easy to take with me to other rooms I've got the cream one a bit more expencive but it was bought for my bedroom.PURE ONE VL-61085 Classic DAB Radio - Black

This is a lovely item with excellent sound quality too.
Very easy to set up and use.

This radio is just right for me. The sound quality is very good for its size, which is compact and ideal for the kitchen counter. It has a modern clean look, not too fussy. The extras, such as mep socket are very useful.I think it is good value for money.

I purchased the more basic PURE Classic model as a present for someone in December and the recipient was pleased with the result. When wishing to purchase a similar DAB radio for another present, I read the reviews for the Classic and noted several comments about the Elite being a better buy for poor signal areas. As this applied to the destination for the new radio, I heeded the advice and went for the Elite version. I am pleased to report that it met the challenge and my husband's birthday present was a success - we moved to a poor signal area last October and much to his distress, he could not receive BBC Radio Manchester and the match reports for Bolton Wanderers. With his new PURE ONE Elite radio, after a bit of searching on the tuner for signal strength, he found the station which comes through loud and clear! He is a bit of a technophobe and has no problems operating the controls. He also has arthritis in his hands, but still manages OK.

This radio (the Pure One Elite) has better DAB signal reception than the slightly smaller Pure One Classic. I live in an area with a poor radio signal. The 'Classic' couldn't pick up DAB signals but the 'Elite', which I replaced it with, can.

The radio is great! It has good sound and the interface is easy to use. We've used the timer on it which is simple and effective. The only (minor) complaint I have is that when you scroll through the preset stations it starts at the first one everytime rather than the one you are on. But that's pretty minor. It looks good and does the job well.

Having previously owned an Tesco own brand DAB radio (which received a DAB signal)I decided to buy a PURE ELITE DAB radio after reading all the good reviews. However I cannot receive a DAB station on my new PURE radio!

We bought this to replace an older DAB receiver for the kitchen. The PURE ONE Elite does a reasonable job of providing stereo listening from a small black box. Tuning is accurate and stable. There's plenty of volume to get above kitchen noise, and the sound is clear.
It also has a nice matt black surface which wipes clean easily - good for the kitchen.
All in all, a good buy for us

I'm more than happy with this radio, no problems with locking onto stations (London, so there's plenty about), and really nice sound quality blasting out in the kitchen. I think it's useful having the audio-in as well... though I've yet to actually try it. Doubt I'll bother buying the battery pack, but though it seems expensive, it actually compares well if you look at how expensive it'd be to buy a set of standard batteries for it, so I'd rather have the cheaper up-front purchase price, and the choice of buying the battery pack separately.

I got this as a present for my birthday. Thought the sound quality was excellent and got a nice black rubber finish to it.
However, found it very frustating to use next to the bed. The 1st setting on the volume control is too loud and not any good for leaving on while you are trying to get to sleep. You can't make it any quieter without switching the volume off completely.
Also, having to use both hands to press some of the buttons is a bit of a pain, otherwise the whole thing topples over!

Purchased this radio for the kitchen, very easy to set-up and simple controls. All in all very pleased with product, good build quality, excellent reception. I can now disappear and listen to the sport in DAB, great!
