I bought this item without looking carefully enough at what it was for. I imagined that it was a lot bigger than it is and that I could use it as a hands-free magnifier to shape and paint small model kit parts. It seems to be the kind of thing that you would use to look at the details of stamps or photo prints. That I got it wrong is entirely my own fault but for the job that it is meant for it is very good: it makes visible a lot of detail that otherwise can't be seen. It's a bit pricey though.
