This works as promised but the problem is the field of view is so narrow it feels like looking through a pinhole and it's really hard to get eyelashes out of the way of what you are viewing! It's cheap but I might buy the natural history museum microscope next time since it seems to have a much wider view.

The mobilux magnifiers are useful both at home or while out and about, for example, for reading telephone directories, price labels in a shop or map reading in the car.
Correct illumination can reduce the magnification requirements by one to two magnification values.

i actually had no reason to buy this, but as an artist i figured this mught open up
new evenues and perspectives on shapes of eveyday things!!!definitely was right!!
obviously for this price you'r not gonna be able to ce the nucleus of cells but for
getting fantastic closeups of insects, plants and anything you can imagine this is
a very fun and interesting piece of kit. Three stars only simply because of the shipping
cost, id advicse anyone buyin ti to contact the seller and ask for a price. One of those
situations where they have been advised by amazon to use a standard price for postage of
all items....which makes the postage on this little thing fairly expensive!!
worth checkin out....apart from that if you want to get 60-100x perspective on everyday things for
a unique view...this really is a handy job!!

This is an elegant table lamp with illuminated magnifyer.
It performs both functions quite well BUT I think it is a little bit 'Style over substance'.
The smooth, continuous, almost monolithic form of the lamp is pleasing to the eye and easy to keep clean & dusted. Where it is less than perfect is that it lacks the freedom of movement of an anglepoise lamp so you can't always get the light - and probably more importantly the magnifying glass exactly where you want it.
