My Chronos iDock is just over 2 years old and my kitten has just chewed off the aerial. Thinking that obtaining a replacement aerial would be straightforward, I contacted Pure to be told, "the aerial also is actually not replaceable on this unit I am afraid. I am afraid your radio is out of warranty and we are no longer able to provide the parts necessary to repair this particular model." The aerial is VERY flimsy and just the sort of thing a kitten would play with. Obviously Pure don't give a damn about their customers - don't buy this heap of junk!

Sitting on the bedside table, used every day, looks good, sounds good! I've sometimes found myself getting confused about which buttons to use for tuning and selecting the channel but I guess making it idiot proof might have resulted in a bigger and less attractive facia. My remote did run dead within 6 months, which wasn't impressive. Presumably just requiring a new battery. Otherwise no regrets.

Bought this to replace an internet radio which to be honest was abysmal, the music kept stopping whilst the buffer caught up!. The Chronus fits the bill perfectly. The white version is suitable for the bedroom and it sits nicely on the bedside table and with it's triangular shape fits into the corner a treat. The remote means that it doesn't have to be at the bedside if that is unsuitable. For it's price the sound quality is reasonable. Setting it up is a bit fiddly especially to set the alarm but with familiarity would be no problem. To me the best feature is the sleep timer, just two button presses and I can nod off listening to my favourite music knowing that it will switch itself off at the set period of time.

This sits in our kitchen day in day out and enlivens the place. Going through a house extension and the builders borrowed it to use while building the roof - it didnt seem to mind being outside for two weeks in a wet british summer but probably just lucky. Good finish for scarping plaster dust off - cleans well. Its sturdy and a great incidental sound - wont replace the man-cave stereo though.

This is a fantastic DAB radio and reasonably priced. I bought it for it's small footprint to go in my kitchen. It slots neatly in the corner and produces more than enough volume for a medium sized room. it was very easy to set up and tune which is great for those like me who can find these things challenging. I would highly recommend this neat little device.

Easy to set up, time and radio stations all configure themselves as soon as you switch it on. Drop the iPod or iPhone into the dock and you can control the functions from the remote. One small niggle is that there are 4 or 5 adapters for different types of iPod, with very tiny embossed markings to distinguish one from the other, and you then have to look in the manual to find out which adapter suits your particular iPod. As we have bought this for our guest room, it would be helpful if there were a clearer and easier way of identifying the adapter that is needed.

I was weighing up between this and the Roberts Idream CRD42 DAB/FM Stereo Clock Radio with Dock for iPod. I initially bought the Roberts one - partly on price and partly on the footprint being smaller with the Roberts one (it goes on a bedside cabinet). The Roberts one, whilst easy to set up, had appalling reception on even the BBC channels and even worse on other ones. There is also no way of controlling the volume of the radio when it is set to come on as the alarm. I spoke to Roberts about both of these issues and they said that there was nothing that could be done to improve reception, and there was no way of altering the volume (which is VERY loud!). So sent that back and got the PURE one instead - fantastic! Everything is so flexible - you have 4 independent alarms which can be set as every day, just week days, just weekends or just one offs - can be set to radio (FM or DAB) or iPod or buzzer and the volume can be adjusted for any of them! The reception quality is superb - on all channels. Whilst it is a little large by the bed, I can forgive that because of everything else it does so well! The display auto dims really nicely at night - but is still clear enough to read if necessary - and is very clear during the day. I've also found that we are listening to much more music at night as the sleep function is so easy to drift off to. I cannot rate this item highly enough!

If you have used other Pure products, you may be slightly dissapointed at the build and sound quality of the Chronos. My advice would be to audition one before you buy.

Excellent product, looks good, easy to use. The sound quality is ideal for the bedroom but no more than that. Had no problems with the iPod docking unit that some have had. If you want to use it around the house I would suggest you get a more powerful unit.

I've needed a replacement radio alarm for some time and decided to give DAB a try. Finding a machine that fit my requirements proved to be interesting, especially reading other people's reviews. However I finally chose the PURE Siesta iDock and I'm glad I did. I'm not a purist where this sort of thing is concerned, I buy an item to do a job and this one does what I require perfectly. The sound is good, even when turned up to full volume - no fuzzy or distorted sound and the alarm is enough to wake me up without disturbing my other half too much. I definitely recommend this one.

This little radio alarm/ipod dock is excellent. Easy to use & the sound quality is fine for what I want. It fits neatly on my bedside cabinet. The four separate alarm function is more useful than I expected. Charges the ipod into the bargain. I'm very pleased with it.

I bought this radio alarm clock as I have a Pure DAB radio which is great. I really wanted a basic Siesta but with so many poor reviews I didn't want to risk it. The Pure Siesta Idock is a great radio alarm clock - you can see the time clearly and if necessary you can alter the brightness of the display manually. I think it is easy to use even without a manual. I love being able to set 4 different alarms - if it is a one off alarm you can choose the date you want it to go off! I also love the fact that the alarm starts very quietly and gradually increases in volume so you don't get woken with a start. I do have an iphone but don't really anticipate using the idock. For what I wanted it was an expensive purchase but what I got was a great DAB+ radio alarm clock with the idock if I want to use it later on.

I bought this item so that I could could play the music on my iPhone and listen to DAB stations (FM reception is very poor where I live). I did some research on the net but found there wasn't much choice available, most were FM/AM only. I chose this product because I have a number of other Pure products and I've always been very satisfied with the quality. The sound quality is very good and the ability to preset your favourite DAB channels is very handy as is the ability to have numerous alarms set. Pure provide various fittings for classics, nanos, iphone, etc so you get a perfect fit for your Apple product. The only thing I would like to see improved is the display screen, I'd like the option to be able to change the display so that it would only show the time.

Great DAB radio as per other reviewers, but after a year or two all three of our Pure Chronos radios stopped receiving DAB - they'd just say "Now tuning..." and sit there in silence.
At the back of the manual it tells you how to reset: turn it on, hold 'Menu' for 3 seconds, then it asks you to press 'Select' to confirm you want to reset. And DAB returns.
Hope that's some use. Took us a while to work that out...

I've been delighted with this iDock-it is compatible with my very old (3rd Generation) iPod and the speaker quality is great. I'm not a raver, but the loud volume quality is great. I've not had issues with any aspect of the machine-the remote is really handy when you're feeling lazy, and the radio is really good too. Such a bargain as well - everyone should have one!

Wow! What a step up form the old analogue clock radio we've been using for 15 years or more. Sure it cost a lot more but has great features such as the iPod docking station for a whole host of compatible units as well as some that aren't listed. Being more advanced than I'm used to I need to get the instructions out again but we've got it working well and are enjoying the great sound. Nothing bad to report.

I was a bit wary of buying this having read some of the reviews but I did and I'm more than impressed with it. I use Planet Rock as a test for DAB in my area as it can be hard to get it tuned but the Chronos picked it up at 100% signal strength. The volume level, which has been criticised, is plenty for a bedside radio. Only criticism I had was that my iPod was quieter when docked compared to the radio stations. Love the various alarms provided. Do read the manual before using the Chronos as its not a normal clock radio, its much more sophisticated.
