Ok for the price paid but it only gets average reception and the volume doesn't go very loud. Plus it doesn't have a lock/hold button so it is prone to switching stations in your bag.

For me a complete waste of money. I could just be unlucky but I've tried it in two places and haven't managed to get a sustainable signal hence no excellent digital reception. If I was more organised it would have gone back on the first day. But I keep thinking I might move to an area with a signal and then it could be better than sliced bread.

I bought this product and was pleased with it at ifrst as it does exactly what it says it will. However, I found that it come out of my ipod very easily-and in the end was forced to use a rubber band to keep it in place. This was annoying as even the slightest knock meant it stopped working, and I had to restart the ipod and go through the rather convoluted start-up process again. So yeah - when it's in place and on a still flat surface it's great, but otherwise think carefully before buying.

This is a great DAB radio when attached to my ipod and even works in my car with the auxiliary in lead and the ipod.
BUT
It does not feel very securely attached to my ipod touch - it is better on the old brick CLassic.
It does not work on my JBL OnStage IIIp despite being sold as working on all docking speakers. I have taken this up with Intempo and am awaiting a response.

The only reason to connect this device to your iPod is because it takes it's power from the iPod battery.
I have a cable adaptor fitted into the rear of my car stereo (the CD auto-changer connection) via which I can connect (and power) my iPod. I tried the iDab on it's own, and it works, giving me DAB in my car, without having to buy a new stereo, or rely on the lighter socket, FM transmissions, or any of the other usual methods.
The unit is supplied with a simple aeriel....a thin black cable around a metre long.....and as long as you position that cable well, you get excellent reception. I travelled a round trip of 75 miles yesterday, listening to DAB all the way, without a single problem.
Because the unit is small, it would be fiddly to retune to other DAB stations while driving, but if you're listening to a station with national coverage (Planet Rock, in my case) you don't need to touch it. I found reception to be very good, if a little light on the bass...but I can adjust that on my car stereo.
I actually bought the iDAB as a Christmas present for my wife, who wanted DAB through her iPod.....but I've now ordered another one for myself.
