 "Expected better" 2010-02-11
By Severnrudder (UK)
Since writing the report below I've had cable TV installed and connected by HDMI cable for High Definition with the resulting picture quality improving significantly. The colour is stronger, definition and contrast improved so the settings for each programme do not have to be changed as I did in the past.

Although now happier with it I will leave my first report as I firmly believed in what was written at the time ( before HD and cable connection ) so have upped the stars to 3 but still think there are better TV options out there.

I have one of these and overall quite disappointed. The image looks washed out on the whites (like you would see white on a negative) and the colour appears to run, almost ghostly, on many different programmes. I seem to be forever changing the backlighting for a decent picture in daylight where as in the darker evening the picture looks as if it has too much contrast. I bought it because I have a smaller 20" Sony which is great but the larger one no thanks. Overall I wish I had bought something else.

"does exacly what i says on the box" 2010-01-07
By Robert D. Pickering
did a lot of research on tv's and i am glad i chose this one! its a refurbished model and so far there is absolutely nothing wrong with it! the picture quality is outstanding even just freeview seems near hd! the sound is by far the best ive heard on a flatscreen! I have a 42" toshiba in my front room and the sound on that is awful in comparison.

its easy to set up, easy to use, and i dont know what everyone is complaining about the banner for, it is not on for long and the picture quality does not change when it goes off! it can be a little slow changing channels on occasions when u press the channel up button quickly so ive opted to use the tv guide and select channels that way instead.

overall fantastic tv would recommend to anyone!

delivery was good too it arrived about 4 days before the estimated delivery time

"Sony bravia 26in reconditioned TV" 2010-01-04
By Rupert Hartley
We bought it for our Daughter, (a reconditioned machine) and after the first month all seems to be continuing well. It arrived promptly and apart from one small mounting screw for the stand missing everything else was fine. She seems very happpy with it.

 "poor service" 2009-09-01
By Raymond Pickett
After one year and two weeks the tv developed a shut down fault---never,never contact the Sony help line--you wait 15 minutes and then get fobbed of by a lady in Wales who would be better off with a spinning wheel---Amazon simply passed the buck on to the supplier. My tv man declared that Sony provide the worst service of any major tv manufacturer--i agree .As a nation we are too thick and disorganised to make just about anything---we now seem to be incapable of even providing service to imported goods. In future i will buy( not Sony) from John Lewis with a 5 year warranty

 "Sony Bravia 26"" 2009-07-13
By Joan Wood (UK)
Bought this TV for my Aunt who wants to be ready for digital - we already have a Sony 26" which we are really happy with and so she wanted a Sony too. After hours of shopping, Amazon had the best deal around so she went for this one and is really happy with it. Great picture and sound. She now also has a freesat dish too so she is one happy viewer. She did not want too big a set and was sure a 19" would be fine but I persuaded her to go for at least a 26" for her small lounge and it looks great. Easy to put the stand on and simple to tune.
