LG26LG3000 26" widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview.
Well, that's what it says on the tin and basically that's what it is! It's compact, shiny and 'HD Ready', unlike our existing old fashioned bloated TV which simply isn't ready yet. But, then, old fashioned bloated ME isn't really ready yet either.
What attracted me to the product? - Good price, special 'voice clear mode' (one of our viewers has a hearing aid and can have difficulty distinguishing voices from background noise), lots of input sockets, in-built Freeview, special computer game mode for console users.
How did it measure up? - The sound isn't great and 'voice clear mode' makes no discernible difference. The gaming mode just makes the screen a bit dimmer so we don't use it. The Freeview seems to work well and the copious inputs are well placed and convenient, plus the overall unit size is great - so compact for such a sized screen.
Overall then, nothing majorly wrong, but I feel a bit disappointed. Old fashioned CRT TVs have a much clearer picture, especially with long panning shots and fast action, which frankly hurts my eyes with its jumpiness on this TV (and, probably all LCD TVs that I've seen, truth be told - this new technology with high resolution and HD readiness - is it really just a bit of Emperor's New Clothes?).
If you were the marketing department, but obliged to tell the truth, you'd sum this up as "Not bad for the price, but really nothing to get very excited about if you don't ABSOLUTELY HAVE to make use of the third of a cubic metre of volume in your living room that will be freed up by such a thin TV".

Plugged in, switched on, waited for the tuning to finish, voilá.
Decided it had definitely been time to get rid of the old one, a fraction the mass and bulk it's sitting on a corner shelf looking good. Well pleased.

I had this tv delivered this morning, went through dixons as they had it on offer, after reading other reviews I was excited about receiving my delivery, the set up on the stand was a bit awkward as you have to screw it on to the base-obviously taking care not to scratch your new tv!
Plugged in Sky and my Xbox-upset to find the picture quality and colour to be poor, you do have options for changing the settings but this still does not really improve the shadowing or blurring of the actual picture. Also disappointed with the sound quality-as stated before it is very tinny, and although again you can change the sound format, the compressed sound does not improve-have organised for the tv to be picked up for return-so now back to searching for a new TV :-(
I have spent alot of time reading the reviews as I rely heavily on them when Ordering online, Please take my advice and do not buy this tv, It really is not worth the money or hassle of return!

I took a gamble on this set sight unseen but am very pleased with it. For me the design of a TV is very important and the LG oozes style. The whole package is very well put together and it performs admirably on all fronts. The Toshiba was available for slightly less money but it design was bland and dated. Possibly too small for a main TV but ideal for a bedroom or second room.
