I could not recommend this radio. The only reason it was not returned was that we were in the midst of decorating and the paperwork went awol. The CD player constantly returns to the beginning sometimes after 1 or 2 minutes, sometimes half way through the CD!! The high pitched buzz means it has to be switched off when not in use. None of these faults appeared immediately so we bought the smaller without a cd version as a bedside alarm from which there is a constant noise, unfortunately its right at my side of the bed!! I, like one of your other buyers wish I had read the reviews, but actually we purchased it January 2009 so maybe there weren't that many reviews?
It looks good, I like its shape, colour - we have the silvered version, the radio is good and I like the way it sorts itself out after the plug has been replaced in the morning. Apart from that, sorry...would not buy this again.

So far so good this arrived extremely quickly and is working perfectly at the moment so I am very happy with the quality, the service and the item itself.
I am a little concerned that the refurbished items only come with shorter guarantee.

Great DAB radio as per other reviewers, but after a year or two all three of our Pure Chronos radios stopped receiving DAB - they'd just say "Now tuning..." and sit there in silence.
At the back of the manual it tells you how to reset: turn it on, hold 'Menu' for 3 seconds, then it asks you to press 'Select' to confirm you want to reset. And DAB returns.
Hope that's some use. Took us a while to work that out...

I love the radio and audio CDs. This is a particularly nice DAB radio / CD player. Not only is it easy to set up and get to the stations you like, you can swap between them easily with the neat hand control. The only problem with DAB is in my experience you either have good reception or dreadful reception and it seems to be affected by atmospheric conditions. Generally I am a DAB convert.

Researched DAB radio/ CD players for a while before buying this one, couldn't find many at the cheaper end of the market so decided to go for this.
I agree with some previous reviews, the sound quality is not amazing but it's not at all bad for the size of the unit and the price. It can go quite loud, and there are various settings for different types of music but don't go expecting amazing sound quality. However signal is great, it's just the speakers that aren't amazing.
Very easy to use, managed to set different alarms for different days of the week, without looking at the guide. Waking up to pre-set station or CD is really great.
Anyway, over all a great buy for the kitchen/ bedroom/ study or other small space, but (obviously) not great as a main home stereo.
