I bought 2 of these and am very impressed with what you get for the money. I was a bit concerned about some other reviews that state there are issues with the software crashing if it was left on standby overnight but as I tend to turn things off at the plug I wasn't too bothered. However, I left both on standby for 2 days just to check and both worked fine after.
The freeview is great, as is the analogue tuner (I still need a built-in analogue tuner so I can see the CCTV system) and the build quality is just as good as other Sony telly's purchased in the past.
The cheapest 26" I could find was an Alba from Argos - for the extra £50 this is a great telly as you can see from the Amazon sales rank.

Bought this TV to replace a 19" Sony which looked lost in it's location. For me there is only Sony TV's, having tried various manufacturers I find the colours and clarity of pictures superb on a Sony TV. Excellent value

having had an excellent 23 inch Sony LCD for a while, we thought a 26 inch screen would be easier to see. The reviews seem to come to a choice between Panasonic & Sony, however the contols for the Pan were shocking & the picture in the shop seemed to be identical. we bought the Sony. Big mistake. At home the picture, even after weeks of tinkering with the settings is not a patch on our original set & my conclusion is that inferior components have been used to keep the price down. The remote works very slowly and the tv features such as picture in picture & freeze frame are no longer there. I wish I had stuck with my guns and bought the Pan.

I foolishly bought this product without checking out any of the on-line reviews. As other reviewers have noted, the TV has a software fault whereby it freezes if it is switched off for any period of time. This fault was obvious within one day of purchase and I then had to send it back to Sony for a software upgrade - not an acceptable situation in my opinion. The picture is good but the software is clearly a little flakey, for example, the system has a tendency to lock up if you access the electronic programme guide. Also, this television takes far longer to switch on than my other TV - a Pansonic. Overall, I expect a bit more for my money and on that note, I do think that the Sony is relatively expensive compared to other manufacturers.

TV works well straight from the box and looks great on the wall. Remote control very clear and easy to use. The picture quality is not all I was hoping for. After much adjustment the colours are fine, however there is often motion blur when objects move quickly. I only watch on freeview so cannot comment on how it would be when viewing in HD.
All in all excellent value for money and great service from Amazon.
