This is a classy, well made, good looking and great sounding radio. I particularly like its retro look, which contains up to the minute digital technology.
It is easy to use, and has lots of great features.
I particularly like the snooze handle...no more fumbling for a tiny button, just a light touch is all that's needed.

I am extremely pleased with this radio for the following reasons:
- excellent reception even without the aerial
- high quality display with the very useful snooze handle - an added bonus particularly useful for viewing the time in the dark
- very ease to use and set up
- energy saving and screen saving are unobtrusive and efficient
- well thought-out design with only one small quibble - the volume and tuning buttons should be further apart
I found the Pure models, as presented on their website, hard to distinguish from each other - this model is the same base unit as the Evoke but has the addition of Natural Sounds in place of an integrated battery compartment. I had no need for the latter as the unit is used as a bedside radio.

I wanted a DAB clock radio for the bedside and this fits the bill perfectly.
I get good reception for both DAB and FM and sound quality for a mono radio is very good. The natural sounds are great for getting off to sleep and having 4 independent alarms is brilliant.
The OLED display is fantastic. Its dims automatically in dark, is clear enough to read the time but doesn't radiate light to keep me awake.
I haven't checked the accuracy of the timekeeping which other reviewers have mentioned but if if I need to be up by a certain time then I can set it a few minutes earlier, no big deal to me.
All in all I am very satisfied with this product, it looks great too!

The Tempus is a great DAB radio let down by the way the clock functions. After setting everything up, I left the machine in standby. I returned after 7 hours and found the time was already 2 minutes out. Pure state: "The radio looks at the time every hour from the moment you first turn the radio on and this is how it keeps its clock up to date" but obviously doesn't mean during standby. I then assumed all that was needed was to turn the radio on for this to be immediately corrected - which would have been fine - not so, as the time remained exactly the same (I only listen to BBC DAB stations so the time signal is accurate and plentiful). In order for the clock to update, the radio has to now remain on for at least an hour. But what if I only use the radio for 30 minutes before putting it back to standby or switching to a non-radio mode? It never gets a chance to update and the time just gets more and more out. Is this really the best idea for updating the clock? With the onboard clock so inaccurate, why not either have the clock update in standby too, or, even better, have it look for an update the moment it comes out of standby. Seems obvious to me.
I've recently had the opportunity to try several DAB radios at home, including Pure's new Chronos iDock II. Aside form other issues I wont go into here, the clocks were never wrong, not once, and the units were in standby for most of the time. When the BBC broadcast the hourly time signal pips, they were only a few seconds behind. Therefore the Tempus issue has nothing to do with multiplexes or time signals as Pure would have you believe.
I doubt Pure has plans to update the firmware to deal with this, as this is not a new model and they would've surely done so by now. So, in my opinion, having a brand new bedside CLOCK radio whose clock can be several minutes out within hours of being in standby, doesn't really work properly, isn't truly fit for the purpose for which it was intended, as even an ordinary analogue clock keeps an accurate time after such a short period, and therefore must be considered faulty - which is a real shame, as in all other respects it's a really fine piece of equipment.
