I'm currently on my second one of these, and that will now have to go back because it too is faulty.
The first one I received suffered from a problem whereby it would spontaneously switch itself off and would then be impossible to turn on again. Sometimes after a wait of several minutes, or cycling the power, it would come back on, but often it was necessary to leave it off overnight to 'fix' itself. The replacement radio did not suffer this problem initially, but this one has an intermittent fault where the display will stop showing the information it's supposed to and instead shows garbled information and random lines. Cycling the power fixes that, and it does not affect the sound, so I've lived with that problem. But now the replacement has started to suffer the same problem as the first, so it too will have to be returned.
To its credit, the radio does sound fine when it is actually working, and the features that available are useful, but the reliability of this model is unacceptable. I'll be asking for a refund rather than a replacement.

This is my first DAB radio. Bought to have it in the kitchen, so I didn't want something too big. I had seen the PURE EVOKE 1 in the shop,so when I opened the box and saw this one, I got shocked, it is huge! I tried it to see if it was worth to keep it. I had to rearrange some stuff to make room for it, since the sound is great, there's not interferences (it's under the window), I get lots of channels, the display is clear, the preset buttons are good and the clock is automatic. I still don't like it so big, I miss a remote control, the instructions for the recording are a bit confusing (I haven't tried yet), because it's plugged from the back it's not possible to put it against the wall and that fake timber colour is terribly ugly and make the radio look cheap (...and it's not for a radio).

Bought this item for my wifes' birthday and I wasn't disappointed.A very good product.The reason why I picked this particular make and model was because of the programme 'The Gadget Show'who tested quite a few of these type of radios and this one was in the top 10.I wasn't going to pay the top price so I opted for this Model.It is porable but you have to buy the power pack seperately and this can cost you around £30.Impressed by the way you can stop a programme and then go back to it afterwards,this way you don't miss anything.

Lovely, quality radio (or seems so from the outside anyway). Almost too good! Good for kitchen or lounge but sound is almost too full (even at lower volume!)if you have it next to you on a desk or bedside table at close range.
I haven't tried a chargepak so can't comment on that.
Plus points:
Good looks.
Intiutive controls.
Pause feature easy to use.
5 proper one touch presets.
Fab sound (although on default alot of bass, but bass can be reduced so not a problem)
Ipod sounds good when played via 3.5mm plugs.
DAB+ compatible if we ever need it in the future.(Will we?)
Minus points.
The major minus is NO SNOOZE , not just no snooze handle but no snooze facility at all. What's the point of an alarm without a snooze facility? At this price I took it for granted but was wrong. That's why I deducted a star.
Can't see the point in intellitext. Might have been slightly useful before the internet was invented!
Expensive considering the only real extra features it has over one of half the price are stereo, one alarm and pause.
Lovely radio if you want to spend that much but I'm happier with the Pure Tempus 1s which i swapped it for

The radio fully justifies it's top rating in the 'Which?' review. The sound and tuning are top rate but....
I think that the layout ,particularly of the back, could be much improved. The mains lead, when in place, sticks out of the back and so prevents the radio from being placed against a flat surface. The same is true of the aerial, which could be placed on the top or end. The earphone socket should surely be on the front ,or the end perhaps. Despite that I would still give it top marks as a DAB Radio.
