"Worth getting to know this Raynox" 2010-05-25

The other reviewers have covered what you need to know. Another photographer recommended this lens to me when I was considering getting either macro filters or extension tubes.

I needed a macro lens for a homework module. First time out of the box I couldn't 'see' anything! It didn't make sense to have the lens on full zoom then get up really close to the subject. Once I'd figured it out what you see through the lens is pretty impressive.

You need great light as being so close to your subject you can cast a shadow. I've used it mainly outdoors for that reason. My homework was to learn hand-held macro using the rocking technique. I've put up two pictures and both used this method. It's frustrating/fun in equal measure to use but I love it, plus it isn't horrendously expensive compared to a prime macro lens.

 "Great little Raynox" 2010-05-14

I've had such fun with this attachment. It's great value for money and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to have a go at macro without having to go to the massive expense of a new lens. I have a Nikon D40 and I've managed to get some great shots.

 "Amazing photos" 2010-05-08
By Mr. Wayne Davies (pembrokeshire, wales)
My Canon SX-20 takes impressive macro shots, but I have to get very close, so the lens is almost touching the object.

The DCR-250 is amazing. It attaches very simply by gripping inside the lens threads, in the same way that a lens cap attaches.

Once attached, position the lens about 5 inches away from the object and use the camera's zoom to get the magification.

Results are incredible, you can see things that the human eye cannot detect, almost microscopic.

Also fits onto my old Pannasonic FZ-18.

"cant rate this product highly enough" 2010-02-08

i bought this product after seeing he results people had had on flickr and i was not disipointed the results are excellent and this allows me to take macro shots that would have required and extremely expensive seperate lense but this add on is a must for any keen macro photographer without money to burn.

 "Brilliant additive for macrohotography" 2010-01-09
By C. Spencer
I haven't used it all that much yet but I've tried it a few times and it's great. No need for expensive big lenses when this just does the job. Ok you need to be close at the subject which is not always possible. But hey you can't have everything.
